What the Austin Matthews Deal Tells Us About the 2024-2025 Salary Cap
There are two schools of thought on this deal. The first is that the Maple Leafs are run by a pack of imbeciles. The second is that they know something we don't.

There are two schools of thought on this deal. The first, and potentially correct, is that the Maple Leafs are run by a pack of complete imbeciles. In my opinion, after seeing the recent Karlsson trade, Toronto's idiocy may be in the rear-view mirror.
The other school of thought is that the Maple Leafs (like other teams, players, and agents in the NHL) know something about the next Salary Cap increase.
